Beware of Bright Colors that Compromise your Executive Presence

Now that spring is here, lots of you are taking a look at your spring wardrobe wanting to add some brighter colors.

Here’s a question I’ve been answering a lot lately:

Q: How do I know if the brighter colors this season will work for me?

A: I was out shopping lately and yes the bright colors are coming out that is a sign of spring and summer. One thing I would mention is that just because the colors are bright and pretty doesn’t necessarily mean that these colors are for you.  I just saw a girl at the bank today, she had a bright fuchsia top on, now mind you it looked nice on her but all I notice was the fuchsia top and not her face, it was way too bright for hair color and her skin coloring.

Here’s how to tell if a color works for you or against you: If you see the clothes before you see your face than it is probably not your color.  You want the attention to go to your face and not your clothes.
